I have finished the first Regult Battlepod sprue! I have magnetized these in order to accept the various artillery modules. I'm still trying to figure out how to get more of the artillery stands as I don't want to magnetize that as well. I may try to see if there's some styrene that can easily be shaped into this part. The next Regult sprue won't be magnetized and are pretty easy to build.

Very cool. What size magnets did you use?

I am using 2 x 1 mm magnets. I had a thought of trying to use styrene to extend the posts out and fill the pods to slide over these..
I will have to experiment...

Someone brought up a good point trying to use tubes or rods. Spinning. These parts could spin if it's not a tight friction fit..
So perhaps a magnet with a part of the sprue to extend the arm cut in a half circle will work...

4 more pods done. All 7 are magnetized. I'm in progress to build the last 6 from the box then the last three zent models. Hopefully zent will be ready to paint by the end of the week. And starting to build the UEDF models.
I'm trying to determine what I want to do with the bases, but I almost want to leave them black. I thought about using cork board and some styrene and paint it like a street. Not sure yet, glad these are coming together pretty quick.

For the bases, I've been considering having some custom stickers or decals made that would cover most or all of the base surface. Then glue the model on top of that. Thought was UEDF and Zent symbols to match the cards. Thoughts?

Not a bad idea. Though adding the faction symbol might be too much? And stickers versus decals, you should probably go with decals as they will last much longer. Good ideas.
Just had an idea for the zent bases to score the base with lines to make it look like plates or tiles and paint it the color of tiles like the inside of a zent ship or the outside hull like armor plates. Not sure if it would look okay, but could be an idea rather than the standard sand/flocking method.

Good points! I know I want to stay away from the standard grass and sand since most of the battles were fought in cities, in or on space ships, or out in space. But you're right, a big logo on the base probably is too much for this size mini which is why I haven't done it yet. Perhaps I will stick with black or grey like they do in CMGs.

I've done some city bases using the GW "astrocrete" textures on the base, some basing grit for "rubble", and the Gale Force concrete chunks to do broken walls, pieces of buildings, etx, with a little painting work.
