Hey a quick probably obvious question. Some missile weapon systems are noted as "dual" but have less missiles then in their volley attribute, is the intent you have 3 missiles and when you "volley 4" shoot them you just shoot the 3, and the idea is that the mech can only shoot up to 4 at a time (if there's a system with more ammo) or is it supposed to be 3 ammo per slot, so you have 6 but can fire 4? It seems like it's the first (3 missiles "volley 4 firing all 3) but I wasn't sure what is meant, same with other "dual" gun systems" if it's just a "here's the attribute of it firing both these guns at the same time"

I believe the rules dictate the ammo is of how many volleys of 4 missiles you have.
So a system with the volley 4 attribute with an ammo of 3 actually has 12 missiles in it.

I still don't have stats for a Female Quedlun, which has Volly X. It seems she would be able to fire ALL of her ammo at once, in one attack round. Does this seem correct? Also does anyone know what her Point Value is to add to a Squad? What about the Mac II Monster's Point Cost?

Yes, the idea with a Volley (X) is that you can fire as many (or as few) of the missiles the mecha has loaded as you like.

Am I missing something here with ammo and salvos?
So, I get the idea of ammo being how many salvos I can shoot, but what about the firing of non-salvo shots? Is that possible? Or is it a salvo every time I fire my missiles from a veritech? Put another way, if it's a salvo 4 weapon, it will ALWAYS fire 4 missiles when I use it, correct?

The volly portion of the missile stats is the number of missiles fired each time an attack is made. The ammo portion is the number of times the missile system can be fired. Multiply the missile ammo by the volly number to get the total number of missiles. The exception is volly X missile systems where the ammo is the total number of missiles in the system and the X means any number of missiles can be fired at one time. For example the veritech comes standard with Ammo 3 Volly 4 medium ranged missiles. Each time the player attacks with the weapon it fires 4 missiles and this can be done 3 times total. The Heavy artillary pod has a 4 ammo volly X long range missile system. Each time the player attacks with the weapon he can fire 1 to 4 missiles at a time with 4 missiles total that can be fired. Hope that clears it up.

A simple way I think of it is anything that says Volley with a specific number is hard wired, whereas Volley X is up to you.
Valkyrie Missiles are Ammo 3, Volley 4, so every time you fire it - sure you get 4 dice. To make it easy, the ammo amount of times you can do that is marked down as Ammo (3). Anytime you fire them, tick off an Ammo box, but roll the Volley number in dice.
Valkyrie Long Range Missiles, on the other hand, being Volley X - it's up to you. Their Ammo is 8, so you could fire 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, or all 8 at once. You'd roll that many dice, but mark off that many Ammo boxes. Want to hit one lonely Regult? Just fire 1, and lose only 1 ammo. Want to try to wipe out an entire structure and bust the bunker beneath the bunker beneath it? Fire all 8, but mark off all 8 ammo.
You get more control over how many dice you get in the attack with Volley X, but overall that's a lot less dice (8) for our VLRM's versus our VM's (12).

Ok awesome feedback. Thanks guys. Played my first game yesterday so still working through the mechanics. I hadn't even really looked at a Volley X unit so that may have made it make more sense to me. Thanks a lot!
