Ok this is what I have at the moment....it is xmas tree party picks. My other idea is to cut up a couple of garlands to get a more "real" tree. Thoughts?

I usually go buy the cheap Christmas trees near the end of the Christmas season. Got around a dozen of them for $2US a couple years ago. Not the greatest/most accurate, but they work.

Yeah I used some of those a friend had I just didn't like the scaling....I may get some and try to cut them down and trim then accordingly. I am also going to try cutting/trimming some garland to make some too. Here is how the above finished.

How sturdy are they? Most Garland that I have worked with is flimsy, and would bend over easily. Other than that they look alright, better than the plastic cut outs.

Well overly sturdy they aren't but unless you are man handling them they are fine. Picking them up and such is simple and they are fine for that. I just need a box now to put them in. Between the garland ones I'll make and the ones above that, I just need to print off another set of buildings, make some more street pieces and I am set to go for when my stuff arrives. When done: Two building sets (Good size city scape) Streets Plenty of trees. Needs some blue fabric for water areas.... That's about it. Bring on timeslots for demos

Just so you know I was in my local Dollar Store the other day. They had some nice x-mass trees for dioramas and such for just a dollar. I picked up a bunch. They didn't have any of the snow flocking on them either. Great way to build a forest for cheap! Have a look if you get the chance.

My local store had some too but I just didn't like the scale as it was too off. They'd be the size of redwoods by comparison to the minis and I didn't like that.
As it was those trees above cost me about....10 bucks and a couple of hours of time
That's all the trees I did in this thread. The templates and about two dozen of the smaller plastic ones and about two dozen of the garland ones. I may get another garland and do a couple if dozen more.
