What's your favorite mecha or mechanized unit in Robotech and why? (can you guys tell I have a lot of time on my hands tonight lol)
I've flip flopped a few times over the course of my life. When I was younger I was into the veritechs. I bought Jetfire the Transformer because he was an armored veritech and it was sweet. I really like the latest versions of the veritechs as well, they're looking pretty sweet.
The M.A.C. II was my favorite for a while when I played it in the robotech RPG.
But probably my all time favorite is the Tomahawk! Seeing that thing on the cover of the original Battletech boxset hooked me on that game and I've been playing it for roughly 25 years!

While I do love the VF-1, the Spartan (aka Archer) has a special place in my heart.

I would have to say a toss-up between the Glaug and the Tomahawk. In RTT the Tomahawk is a beast, which is nice.

That's good to hear, I will most likely favor destroids in my games since I enjoy their aesthetic more. Not that I don't really like the valkyries but the destroids are sort of treated as the B team in Robotech and I'm a fan of the little guy.

I have to say that I like the looks of the Tomahawk, the Glaug is a close second. I was always partial to their clones (Warhammer and Marauder) back during my early BattleTech days.

While the tomahawk got me into BT, I always thought the Marauder looked out of place. It has an 'alien' feel for obvious reasons and has those large hard to ignore jets that aren't position to be used for jumping. It just felt awkward.

Looking forward to the destroids but I have to say veritechs, however I like the female power armor too.

Tomahawk with Fast Pack VF-1 a close second

As a true Fan boy, Ill go with the VF-1's. Nothing is more cooler then An F-14 looking plane that turns in to a bad ass robot!
But from a firepower stand point, The Tomahawk has got to be the most awesome. Basically a walking tank battalion.
A close second for me is the Monster, (MAC II) that behemoth spouts four 16 inch guns, the same as those found on an Iowa class battleship.
As for the Zents I love the Officer Pod, it looks wicked and was portrayed as nimble as hell in the show.

I'm all about the Veritechs. VF-1J for me I think. My aspiration as a kid was to grow up to be Rick Hunter...LOL!!
Never could stand the Destroids. In the show they basically just stand around and die. I loved the mobility and versatility of the Veritech. Plus popping Battle Pods with a GU-11 in Batteloid mode is hands down the coolest Sci-Fi moment ever for me growing up. Probably cooler than light sabers.
So yeah Veritech junkie here.

The Marauder err.... Glaug. But for Robotech, probably the Female Powered Armor, though I have no idea what it's Zentraedi name is. Once that was unlocked was the moment I bought into the Kickstarter. Sad I have to wait to get them till wave 2.

I was always a big fan of the Destroids- I loved the idea of walking tanks and I thought that they never really got a fair shake in the show except when Rick piloted the Spartan that one time. Tomahawk and Mac2 specifically stood out as favorites. I also liked the Glaug, FPA and MPA. Unfortunately, I was never a huge fan of the Valks or standard battle pods, so 90% of the show was centered around mecha that was ... meh.
Looking forward to hovertanks, Invid, Betas and hopefully Sentinels era destroids.

If we're talking the entire Robotech series….I think I'd have to go with Cyclones and Alpha Fighters (yeah….I'm an Invid Invasion fan! )……for Macross; I'd have to say the Veritech; Roy's VF-1S to be REALLY specific….that skull and crossbones and Black and Gold paint job; KICK-ASS!

GLAUG OFFICER POD!!! As a 1974 kid i've been collecting robots all my life and the Glaug is most def a top-notch Japanese artistic design. Combining a sleek and graceful build while packing a mean effeminate lethality- kind of like a praying mantis highly trained in both ballet and kung fu. Close second is the Mac-II.

Super-Veritech VF-1S or the Tomahawk. Some of the coolest mechs I've ever seen. The Warhammer on the cover of Battletech made me buy the box. I never watched Robotech as a kid, though I'd seen the designs around somewhere.

For Macross, the female power armor. For Southern Cross, the hover tank. For New Generation, the Cyclones.

Hmmm, ard to say. Valks/Super Valks (espeiclaly the J and S) are awesome, and gave me a lifelong need to buy new versions of Jetfire whenever he comes out....but the Tomahawk is a brute and the Glaug is just a sleek looking gunslinger.
I liked Warhammers and Marauders both in battletech...
But as far as game stats go, I gotta say the Spartan is kinda broke. It looks pretty badass and can do a crazy amout of damage

VEF-1 for me. And I'll definitely be doing a Super VEF-1 kit bash when they become available.

Glaug by far. When I was a teenager and "too old" for toys I picked up the Glaug anyway. This was the one for the action figure line. I also really loved the cyclone armor as a kid.

Toss up between CADS 1 Saber Cyclone, Monster Destroid, Armored Valkyrie and AJACS Veritech Helicopter.
From Macross (Macross Plus more specifically) The YF-19

Although I'm fond of most of them, there is something about the Super Valkyrie. But the Destroids Glaug and plain VF are all wonderful.
And yes I had Jetfire and played Battletech
