I just scratched off a bucket list item where I said I was going to make some models and use Shapeways most detailed settings to print them. Since I knew I would have to use the smallest build layers, smaller models would be more affordable. So I made a blue and red bioroid with a hovercraft at 1/285th scale to match RRT.
Did the 3d modeling in Autodesk Alias and Dessault Solidworks, sent the meshes through Autodesk Netfab, then sent the files to Shapeways with their most detailed 15 micron build layer acrylate. Man these things are small! Still trying to get the hang of painting, but the small scale was too easy to build up too much paint too quickly.
