Hey everyone---long time no hear, I know. My absence has been equal parts dropping off of facebook and general frustration with the KS.

But this is not the purpose of this thread.
I've been slowly collecting Third Generation/Invid Invasion/Mospeada stand-ins, and I've found almost everything I want. The only things I'm having trouble finding are proxies for Invid Inorganics and Invid Enforcer/Soldier in 6mm/285th scale. Anyone have any suggestions of figures that are close (or could be modded without too much time and skill)?

Also, I've been adapting the Tomorrow's War ruleset for this universe. I'm getting close to playtesting and have 15+ scenarios fleshed out, loosely following the arc of the TV show. It's looking like it could almost be done as a 1-player game (with the Invid running on robot rules); I'll be running the game with a buddy where he's the resistance and I'm the GM/Invid.

I'll post pics when it's ready to be seen in public.

So no pics yet, no Invid proxies yet...but I have found suitable (for me) Alpha proxies. I'm using slightly modified Tigers from Dream Pod 9 for Alpha battloids (available here: store.dp9.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=69_76&product_id=1004). They're a little short, but scale well (for my eye, not for cannon scale) with the Invid I have. The gun and head look strikingly similar to Alphas as well.
I just got a batch of these 1:350 scale MiG 29s that I'll be converting for the Alpha fighter mode minis (these ones here: www.amazon.com/Trumpeter-MiG-29K-Fulcrum-Aircraft-Set/dp/B0052CJUES/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1455028940&sr=8-2&keywords=trumpeter+1%3A350+mig+29). I'm hoping with the smaller scale they'll be the right size for an Alpha (which is about 60% the length of a MiG 29). If these work, I'll kit bash them with the Tigers to make Guardian mode Alphas.
I've been playtesting and tweaking the stats for Tomorrow's War. It's been a lot of fun so far. I'll post the stats and special rules here when they're ready for prime time.

Sadly I have abandoned this project--while Tomorrow's war is a lot of fun, it just isn't what I was looking for. In many games, the resistance squad would withdraw after the first attack because of failed morale checks. I think RRT will have to do for now.

I keep finding myself distracted with my X-wing ground war project but the good thing is some scenery I am making fits the scale for RRT so it is all good (plus not completely SW looking...).

I am also painting up a Malifaux crew so pray for me.

I have to make a few more pod variants and then the insane painting will continue again: I just went through my annual paint pot "refreshing" job of adding water and mixing like crazy and finding the other paints that have turned into pucks.

Oh well, more stands for miniatures to attach to for painting.
