So enough with my unpainted stuff, now let's move onto what I've got painted which happens to be most of the UEDF and half of the Zentraedi from a showdown. To differentiate my different Valkyrie squads, I've painted each from a different squadron using volumes 1 and 2 of the VF-1 Valkyrie Master file as reference. First up is a Valkyrie Support Squad of 2 VF-1As from SVF-37, Red Bulls squadron based off the Prometheus. The head lasers on the battloids have been adjusted to point forward and the legs on one guardian are pointed back to make it look like it's currently flying forward. If PB ever delivers Wave 2, I'll also kit time out with options to field them as Armored or Supers.

Unfortunately I am unable to see the image. It just shows a broken image link. Are you able to re-post?

Now for a core Valkyrie squad. This group is from SVF-13, Plungers which were also based off the Prometheus and use a light gray naval low-vis scheme. They're also featured in Master File volume 2 equipped with the GBP-1S armor pack so they'll get armored versions if the Wave 2 ever gets released. These guys have been assembled without any modifications. Well, at least I don't remember any as it has been awhile since I assembled them. Unfortunately, they were also the victims of an unfortunate primer accident and look a bit rougher than the others. The primer came out thick, covering all the details so I had to give them a quick soak in some cleaner and a good scrub with an old toothbrush before painting. And in case anyone is wondering about the UN SPACY lettering on the GU-55, it is right side up when viewed from the left side of the aircraft which is upside-down in battloid and guardian mode. From the right side of the aircraft, it is upside-down and right side up in battloid/guardian. This seems to be how they were labeled in Macross Zero.

Here are my Max and Miriya VF-1Js. I liked how the red turned out, but Max's blue is much darker under normal lighting with the lighter blue highlights almost invisible.

Finishing up the squadrons originally assigned to the Prometheus is SVF-1 or Skull Squadron. I've used the DYRL paint scheme so they'll match up with Skull-1. They're currently only 3 VF-1As as I've left space for the Roy Fokker and Rick Hunter models if they ever come out. If they don't, I've got 2 spare kits that I can build up.

Now for some ground forces. I couldn't find many references on the destroid units stationed on the Daedalus or the SDF-1. I'd expect them to be organized like armored vehicles with 4 to a platoon, 3 platoons plus 2 destroids in an HQ section to a company. First up is Archer platoon of 4 Spartans with an air defense section of 2 Defenders for support. With its speed, hands and optional combat baton, the Spartan excels at fighting in built up areas while the defenders provide the unit with some air defense. Archer platoon is either tasked with closing with the enemy or providing close-defense to other units. I've magnetized the Spartan arms so I can swap out the GU-11 arm with the combat baton arm or an empty handed arm. Next is an Warhammer platoon of 4 Tomahawks, also with an air defense section. The armor and weapons selection on the Tomahawk make it a good general purpose line fighter with the Defenders again providing air defense. Warhammer platoon anchors the defense line and can provide overwatch for Archer. Rounding things out, we've got Longbow platoon which is a mobile artillery battery of 4 Phalanx. Longbow platoon is tasked with providing Warhammer and Archer platoons suppressive fire. The arms have been magnetized so I can swap them out for the Scorpio missile upgrade. Finally a group shot of all the UEDF mecha (minus 2 Valks in all 3 modes and the 2 extra Valk battloids) Zentraedi will follow shortly. I only have half the Showdown painted (24 Pods, 8 Artillery Pods, 2 Officer's Pods, 2 Recon and 2 Recovery). I'm not sure whether I'm going to paint up the other half, but as I've got 3 FPA and 6 MPA primed, I think those will be next in my queue.

Here's a group shot of my Zentraedi. The battlepods are done. Breetai, the MPA and FPA still have detail work pending. Here's how I have the units broken down: 1 Regult Attrition Squad w/ Officer's Pod, Recovery Pod and 2 Telnesta Regults 1 Recon Squad w/ Recovery Pod and Regult Support Squad 1 Artillery Squad w/ Scout Pod 1 FPA Squad 1 MPA Squad

That's odd. I've tried checking from another machine where I'm not logged in and it shows. Photos are hosted on Google photos. I'll try moving them to photobbucket tomorrow.

I used a computer (rather than my tablet) and they came through just fine. Beautiful work!

Nicely done! That's quite the sizable force there. Got any shots of the models in games?

Thanks all.
I have a few shots from a game, but the artillery pods were only primed at the time and we got caught up with the action that we missed the second half of the game.
Unfortunately, i've been really busy (tm)(c)(r) lately so I haven't had the time to post up the individual zentraedi units and I'm going to have to shelve my attempt to cast up super valkyrie parts to use with the existing valkyrie sprues for the time being. I'd like to say it's not my fault (tm)(c)(r), but it takes two to create a child so I can't shift the blame there.
Note: added trademark/copyright tags to avoid infringing on what palladium may claim to be their words. They seem to use them enough

Unit info for the Valkyrie squadrons came from the Macross Master File series books covering the VF-1. Specifically VF-1 Valkyrie Master File volumes 1 & 2. I've seen a third one specifically covering squadrons assigned to the SDF-1 Macross, but I don't have that one. Volume 2 includes the GBP-1 Armor kit and the Super/Strike variants.
