So, I don't know if I should be ashamed of admitting to this, but last night I built a squadron of Veritechs in fighter mode while watching Top Gun on Netflix (I think). I built 4 VF-1Rs and 1 VF-1S as the flight lead. I have an idea of a special forces/reconnaissance type squadron that consists of advanced fighter types that operates autonomously from the rest of the flights that I have. Tonight I hope to build the Battleoid modes for them and watching some other equally ridiculous 80's movie as background inspiration (Red Dawn perhaps). I'll let you all know how it turns out in the end.

This came up in a game Sunday, funnily enough.

I should have mentioned this about a week or so ago, but I finally finished the squad (in all modes) four VF-1R's and a VF-1S as the squadron lead. I will be totally honest, that they seem a little fragile on the table though so far. I only just built enough of both Zentraedi and UEDF to play a non-skirmish game though. The Zentraedi seem to be kicking my A$$! But, there isn't any artillery on either side yet. That seems to be most people's opinion of the power units.

Veritechs can get overwhelmed rather quickly vs. massed pods. Destroids are the great equalizers. Fielding a squadron of 4 Tomahawks definitely helps as they can absorb a ton of damage.
