The op did not claim to have painted them himself as far as I know so perhaps he commissioned itchy to paint them not realizing itchy was sharing his finished work here.

In fact the blog link confirms the op had it commission painted and itchy says in the other thread he did them as a commission not that they were his, so not sure how there is confusion of ownership here.

maybe not ownership but why double posts of the same items, very disappointing, thought someone else did up some Zentraedi's and noticed they're the same ones.

Yes, as clearly stated in my blog post I had these painted as a commission ... I included the person's name (Eric) in bold letters right before the pictures. I share all sorts of things from my blog on all sorts of forums, didn't see the other thread with his pictures in them.
Given the oddly negative reaction here I'll not post here anymore (my own or commissioned items).

@sotek i'm the only one who can be construed as negative reaction, but that's mainly because I am working on my Zent's and like to see others work and when I saw your post noticed it was the same one I had already seen and thought you had started another thread about it.
also how could you not have seen the other topic? do you not check out the other posts or topics here?

Who cares if or why he didn't see the other thread?
Sotek please post at your leisure as you see fit. I'll decide if it's wrong or not and I'm sure most of us here would be glad to see more from your blog or otherwise.

Honestly, I do check here once in a while (mostly battle reports as that is what I'm mostly looking for) ... but given the number of miniature games and projects I have on the go -- my last number of posts on my blog have covered miniature gaming from French Foreign Legion colonial, French & Indian War, WW2, Modern Afghanistan, Napoleonics, Old West and Robotech -- all games I play (there are more) -- it is hard to keep up with the 10's of forums that are out there ... TMP and Lead Adventure are the two I'm on the most by far ... but I post occasionally to siloed forums like this one if I think the audience may be interested (as a blogger, if you don't post to forums, how will anyone find your stuff?). I've myself have benefited vastly from others blogs, that I would never have found if not for trolling forums. I love this hobby and I suppose even if nobody reads my blog, at least it a very visual photo album and documentary of my gaming life that I can look back on one day and remember the good times. I'm probably being over sensitive ... not really a morning person ;-)
That aside, my thoughts on this are:
- Even more painted pictures of beautifully painted miniatures? Yes please. - The few commission painters I use for my many projects I have progressing at the same time (currently Robotech, 28mm ACW, renaissance naval and WW2) generally are only painters and don't participate in any forums (in fact, I think only one actually games?). Given that, I generally haven't checked existing form posts before posting my entries. - My fault here for sure, but I have three blog posts being written --- this one, a Dead Man's Hand one I posted yesterday, and another WW2 post I'm working on ... again, between actually "doing stuff" and keeping the blog posts up to date (fell behind recently) --- forums are tough for me to keep up on (again, I mostly check TMP/LA).
But again, above thoughts are no excuse ... I should have checked and just added to the existing post to bring additional photos to light of the excellent work that Eric did (and I want him to do more!).
That aside, Eric is a great guy and he had originally painted those models for himself ... brought them to a local Con for the painting contest, I got in touch with him after seeing his stuff in the cabinet (thank god one of my buddies tracked him down) - and he graciously decided to not only sell me his stuff, but also finish off the unit (he originally only had 1/2 the models done for the con ... finished the rest after I threw money at him). Given his sacrifice and that he's a good guy, I'll be inviting him over for all future Robotech games at my man cave once I get enough to play a good sized game (working on it).

Dude, not that my opinion should matter in any way, but I think it was an honest mistake and no harm was done in any way. Even if it were "suspicious" that two people claimed the same models, who cares (other than perhaps the true painter or owner of the models)? I appreciate the posts and even if the models were already seen, they were very nicely done, so worth seeing again!
You mentioned that you played modern Afghanistan in one of your posts. I served in an infantry battalion in Afghanistan and being a miniature gamer have been interested in playing a modern set skirmish level miniature game, but the only one I found was Force on Force and I found the rules... Confusing at best and leaving a little to be desired, but to be fair to the system, I didn't really have a game group that was willing to work through the rules as they were without needlessly tinkering with them. I would love to hear what system you use and would be interested in looking into FoF again even. I would love to emulate some of the combats that we were in to replay them with a gaming mindset...

Thanks for that. First off, thanks for your service!!! I was in the Canadian Army for 6 years and served in Bosnia and Kosovo (though nothing like Afghanistan I'm sure). It is funny you mention this --- I just got done playing a modern game (just downloaded the pictures to my computer). I'm writing up the battle report right now to post in a little bit (may be later tonight ... if I can get it done before family dinner out shortly). Force-on-Force as a core system is not that bad ... but the rule layout and enormous number of additional rules are overwhelming (and confusing). I also struggle with the LOS/group of 4 "blob" concept ... it doesn't feel right. That being the case, we actually moved to try Skirmish Sangin from Radio Dish Dash (http://www.radiodishdash.com/) ... that system is very detailed but a fan favorite with the modern guys (certainly a far better simulator of modern combat than Force-on-Force IMO). We struggled with the detailed nature of Skirmish Sangin and have settled on using Some Corner of a Foreign Field (http://www.wargamevault.com/product/130864/Some-Corner-of-a-Foreign-Field) ... the rules are on two pages, the author is very responsive to questions, and it plays very much at the level of detail I want while delivering the feeling of squad level irregular combat. I highly recommend taking a look at that (super cheap rules) ... if that is not detailed enough check out Skirmish Sangin ... I think between the two you'll find a happy place. Regards, Jay

Hey Guys, Thanks for he kind words about the minis. Sotek is indeed the person I did the commission for, and I am very pleased that he is happy with them. I appreciate any and all posts on my work and appreciate too that he had given me full credit on them from the start. I will have more commission work coming in the future that I will likely post, but I'll make sure the owners are aware of the posts too. Stay tuned for more zentraedi Cheers, Eric (Itchytasty)

Jay,
Thanks for those references! I will look into them when I get the time. I actually was stationed on a Canadian FOB in Kandahar while I was in Afghanistan, FOB Ma'sum Ghar. The Van Deuse (I know my spelling is atrocious, but I don't speak French.) were there the majority of my time in country. I will serve with any Canadian soldier anytime. Very professional and disciplined warriors. We loved to make fun of each other (Canadians and Americans) but I think we were all happy to have each others backs all of the time! So, thank you also for your service!
Good Gaming!
Dale

Looks like the only way to get the rules right now is to buy the bundle for $7.50:http://www.wargamevault.com/product/128007/Tactical-Two-Pager-BUNDLE
Ahh, the Van Doos (22 in French as they are the 22nd regiment) ... thanks for the kind words :-)
