hey folks i've now played out 20 RTT battles, ranging from 150-580 point armies. UEDF won 18 of the 20 engagements. I am not a newbie at tabletop gaming here. I really feel that the UEDF simply has too much MDC. Zen units cannot deliver enough damage regardless of their Accurate, Focus Fire, and Close Formation abilities. I want more than anything to LOVE this game. I only see two balancing solutions here: either reduce UEDF damage capacity, or make their units more expensive for your army (less human units). Does anyone feel like me, and want to significantly reduce UEDF damage endurance?

if the UEDF won that many times then your Zent player is not good or you guys screwed up somewhere on the rules.

The wave 2 Zentraedi mecha will also help even things out. Wait for those models or play test with some proxies/standies of the wave 2 models before you change the stats on the UEDF side. If you do a play test let us know how it goes.

Has anyone seen the stats on the wave 2 units? What is the weapons and damage on them?

All the stats for every mecha from the Macross Saga are in the rulebook.
Well, all except point cost and unit composition.

Ok reviewed the rules AGAIN and no, i was not making errors leading to so many Zen defeats. Played out a 400 pt battle last week and the Zen nuked the pants off the UEDF in a crushing defeat! This was a matter of a long long long string of bad rolls and bad luck for the aliens. Glad i broke the cycle but still feel the UEDF have too much MDC. And to Noshrok- yes i've been extensively fielding proxy Wave 2 Units using Syntax's point values for them. The Quedlun is great but her short range attacks are not enough for her to carry an army- she has to boost so close to enemy lines that the counterattack almost always takes her out. Syntax's stats for the Zen Cyclops are great- it is so much fun to use! Still have never taken down a MAC-II with all that thick MDC. Any thoughts?

I've actually found the opposite to be true. I see the UEDF lose more unless they cheese the phalanx's to ridiculous levels. Does your table have enough terrain on it? Play around with the special characters. You'll find that some synergize better with certain core cards than others. Do you have enough artillery pods in your force? Keep at it, the game has different learning curve than others for sure. I lost a lot with my Zentraedi in the beginning as well, but once you find the right mix of stuff...I think the zentraedi are actually better than UEDF. YMMV. Lastly, to add some spice to your games try out the Geraro special character card I made. You can access it via my other post.
