So for no other reason than to document my own progress, I decided to make a thread here. Maybe along the way it will inspire some. I'm not super amazing and won't pretend to be, I'm also quite the slow painter, but it takes all types I suppose right ;-). I'll post as regularly as I accomplish something. Any who, without further ado, here's what I've managed since I began on the whirlwind. I'm starting with stuff I already had posted on Photobucket. From now on I'll just slap it on here unless Jaymz yells at me due to storage issues ;-). s13.photobucket.com/user/robotek19/media/RRT%20Painting%20Progress/IMG_0090.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0

Ok, so looks like my phone takes pictures that are too big to put in here quickly. So I'll just post stuff to photobucket and occasionally embed in here. But that way the entirety of my progress is on photobucket for those who want to peruse. I'm currently waiting for some good weather to prime so I can get to priming some destroids. I have most of mine built (I got a reckless and a Daedalus assault worth of destroids). I magnetized the Phalanxes. FYI, I have a gaming group and I like to incorporate them into my armies so some of my color schemes will likely be a bit odd, you can blame them cause those will have to do with their individual models/ squads. It makes it fun for them when I do battle reports cause they can see their models die or be awesome. I do the same for 40k.

thanks, that's how I like to roll. probably part of the reason it takes me so long to paint. But yeah that's me in a nutshell. I'm a bit bummed some of the pieces for the Glaug went for a flight and I was never able to find them. I don't play with green stuff as much so I didn't bother fixing them. I figured they were battle damage

You know, I was 'mirin so hard on how clean you paint that I didn't even notice. Having seen how good it looks, I may reserve a clean aesthetic for my hero units. Make them pop out from the blood smoke and grime more.

I do the same with my space marines. It's funny cause some of my buddies are like "DUDE, It's war! They should be grimy and battle damaged". My response is always the same "Not when you GET THERE! We're just arriving and we cleaned up before we went out to play". Course it's not like I don't get made fun of enough for playing Blood Angels, but on top of that I like painting clean lines :S.

Ahahaha I feel your pain. I ran Dark Angels LEGION with classic vehicles. Black with Accents. HIGH gloss! I experimented with a few individual models, like an Apothecary and a Chaptermaster, and I fell in love with grunge, which benefitted my 'nids and my Orks, but my DA's stayed showroom.

I'll send you a link to some of my battle reports. I have a very deep story for my army, tho it's not all written down yet...working on it. Tho, I'm dropping doing them the way I did because it was too time consuming in game and out.

WOW!
OK, I'm impressed! Those are some very crisp lines right there! Love it.
(I only just started painting a few Valkyries and I hope to get good linework in, too...)

Ok, so I had put out a call to my gaming friends go give me color schemes for their own personal mecha that would represent them on the table. I finished the first of these. A Phalanx, for those who play 40k you will certainly see the Ultramarine influence requested by my buddy.
