Hi guys, I've not posted here before but I';ve been lurking for a week or so. i just finished 2 Regults and a glaug as a test scheme for my zentraedi. you can't tell in the pic, but the Glaug legs are the blue-grey, not the grey. These took around 4 hours, but I was experimenting with different techniques. I'm fairly confident I can cut that down substantially as some of these were techniques I've not really used before. I still haven't decided how to finish the bases. I'm not new to gaming, or 1/285th painting. I've done a bunch of Modern micro Armour and Epic 40K and I've also been painting 28mm stuff since i was 13(20 years). My Blog

Excellent work. I love the weathering effect on the battlepods.

finished a Quel-Gulnau: i have a 2nd Recovery pod, so I think I'll go for the dark green/maroon colour scheme.

got some additional stuff painted up Saturday night for the zents. I Finished my 2 recon pods and another Glaug. I also started working on some Destroids in the IDF grey-green colour on sunday. while i was at it, i went ahead and dug out some of my Isreali micro armour from GHQ and repainted it. the front 3 vehicles left to right are Merkava VI tank, Achzarit APC, and Magach 7c (heavily upgraded M60) i thought the colour turned out a little on the dark side, but it seems to match some of the pictures you find online of merkava IVs. so I'll stick with it. that said, i think on the destroids i didn't highlight with a light enough colour before i applied the wash. As a result, they don't look like tehy ahve been highlighted. so i may go back and do them again. the destroids will also get some additional colours and markings in the Israeli style. I think I'm going to order some more Israeli vehicles. another 10 Merkava IVs, 5 each of the Magachs and Achzarits, and probably 10 Namer APCs( a super-heavy APC based on the merkava 4 chassis) I'm still trying to decide how to base my robotech stuff. i can't decide between an urban look or a more rural look.

Personally, the "weathering" doesn't work for me. Otherwise they look great! I particularly like the effect on the recovery pod.

Finished my Brawler Destroid Core squadron. this is 1st company, of the 71st Armored battalion.the 71st is the 2nd battalion in 188th Brigade. all the destroid "companies" are going to have storm-themed nicknames. the 71st is "Tornado" company. Teh number of white rings on the barrels for denotes the battalion's position in the brigade. the chevrons pointing up denotes them belonging to the 1stcompany in the battalion. On each destroid there is also a Hebrew letter denoting the destroid's vehicle position in the company. In the picture above from left to right they are Bet(B), Alef(A), Gimmel(C), and Dalet(D) the letters are most prominent on the spartan's red nose(and also in white on the but), and on the back of the tomahawks red edged in white on the back of the left shoulder. the Spartans in the pics are a little washed out colour wise, but they are supposed to be a light blue-grey. like this pic hereI'm thinking of going with a basing scheme that is mostly rubble. i think this sill look the least out of place in both rural and urban terrain setups.

I love the coloration of the RDF mecha! (Particularly the Tomahawks' olive or green-grey that they are.)

IDF themed Macross is very cool, I think. And the paint jobs are excellent.

finally got around to doing a few more robotech things 1st is the basing. i decided to go with rubble for the most part. here is a pic of the steps, from right to left: in front you can see a primed plastic ruined wall from old Epic 40K base sprues. i found a ton of them in a box of unpainted 6mm terrain. i cut them up and make corners and such. then i fill in around tehm with woodfiller (1st base on the right) this looks like rubble piles once i put the fine balast on(2nd base from right). Then i paint the whole base a dark grey(2nd base from left) and then progressive ly drybrush 3 or 4 layers of lighter grey on (1st base on left) I was also screwing around with my first Valkyrie test. i started on a jet mode model: i thought this turned out really well. so i painted up a battloid to match the camo pattern on this specific jet: i hadn't finished the base yet on the battloid, and I think I'll ad a bit of rubble to the street on the jet base. by the way, i decided i don't like the jumping pose of the Zent battlepods so I've been modifying them and putting my Valkyrie Jets on them. so they have a little more height so that's what I've done in the last week.
