Hi There!
I'm horrible at taking WIP pictures, despite desperately wanting to I get too excited and just forge ahead. I got my delivery in November and started assembling in December. I'm just 1 Glaug, 1 Battloid and decals away from completing the starter box + bonus bag (one more starter box to go .. if I decide to open it, which I'm not sure I will yet)!
Thought I'd share my photos for (possible) inspiration and to let you know; You CAN do it! I have severe carpal tunnel in my right wrist (and I'm right handed!), shaky hands and fumble fingers and I managed to get this completed.
I think I spent a total of about 60ish hours in prep, assembly, priming and painting. Not as bad as I thought it would be. Though I will admit, in addition to being a horrible WIP picture taker, I always do a quick and dirty job of prep (I always miss mould lines and sprue connection points somewhere), and while my painting isn't horrible, it's a far cry from award winning.
Enough blabbing .. on to the pictures!

My kneeling Battloid, stolen from that incredibly awesome thread here (Wargamers thread) .. My modeling skills are lacking, but it works for me. Just need to pop the head on. Hands are from WH40K Space Marines.

And a trainer battloid that I plan on using in an objective diorama (Quite likely face first into Minmei's Aunt and Uncles restaurant).
Realised the white should have been beige .. I may fix that still;

Wow .. does that large picture ever make it look HORRIBLE! /hangs head in shame
Admittedly .. the trainer battloid was the least prepped and most quickly painted of the bunch. I didn't even bother thining the white (and it REALLY shows)!

Congrats. That's a huge accomplishment.
Yeah, it's amazing how bad a tiny model can look when it's magnified 20x. But it's done. And if you really must you can always go back later with a file and more paint. No big deal.
Love the picture of the pods. I think it's the flash that does it, but they look drawn, like a shot from the show. If the background was a watercolor wasteland or cityscape or even space...
Don't forget the grip on the kneeling battloid's gun.
Great job.

Hey bud! That kneeling pose looks great! What are you using as the filler for the joints? Seeing all of your progress is just the kick in the pants I needed to get moving this weekend. Everything looks really good. Especially the big Valk & Zentraedi family photos! Holy cow that's a lot of pods & planes to paint. And as for the big pic... When you blow up any model you can suddenly see every freckle! I almost cried when I first starting taking pics back in 2010. Sometimes I take progress pics just so that I can better see how things are going.

I am using thick gel CA glue and that seems to work well enough for me. Trimming helps too. For the reposed knees I am using aves apoxie sculpt. It is a.lot.to assemble and paint but when I have 2 week stretches where I am awake alone all night there's not much else to do, lol. I work 12 hours a day 3 days a week (weekends at that) so when I'm on nights I have 4 full nights alone Where I need to do something that won't wake the wife.

Anything that fills a gap, sticks and can be shaped is fair game. I used to use Play-Doh but sadly learned that it likes to fall out 5-10 years down the road! AVES apoxisculpt and Greenstuff are my current loves... Long days are a beast but I love the shorter work week that often comes with them.

My Destroids. I would gladly give up the Defenders and Phalanx for 2 more each of the Spartans and Tomahawks .. just because I think they're cooler (always thought so tbh).
No mods done on these. I assembled them in a rush - damn my excitement!
Still waiting to do decals and markings .. I fear doing decals in general as I tend to mess them up more often than not.

Plus these decals are so small they make a person tear up just thinking about application! I'm with you on the destroids. Tomahawk and Spartan were always my faves!

I am with you on the decals. I am skipping that step on my units. All of them. Well, maybe except The Monster. But I have a funny idea I want to do with that one. Your models are looking pretty good!
