Fighter - Easy. Just remember to attach head before gunpod. Guardian - A bit of a pain but simple enough. Battloid - um.....yeah. It's assembled. I am NOT happy with having to use that stupid 90 degree leg on one from each battloid sprue. I also did not want to have to use a two handed grip on any of them either and stuck doing so. Shown with an X-wing from the FFG X-wing game.

I agree. I do not want to use a 2 handed grip for all my battloids, or have more than 2 with a bent knee. I am making modifications as I go where I can.

Man, this makes me want to build my UEDF models so bad. My son is supposed to build and paint them... but he has yet to start. Perhaps when I get that third Starter Box I'll just build everything in it myself.

Yeah it makes me want to put mine together as well. I've been too busy lately to touch them. I did put together three battlepods last night though. First one took me about 45 minutes, taking my time to make sure I did it right. Then I did the next two together and it took about 45 minutes to do both of them.
I've been debating how much I want to magnetize my UEDF stuff. At first I was going to magnetize all the bombs and missiles so that I could switch them out. Now I may not do that.

I am down to 45 minutes per sprue of pods (so three) I do see it getting much faster than that with clipping trimming etc.

It would be a neat option but frankly speaking, I don't think it will be necessary. Is Palladium even going to support a tournament system? That's the only time I see strict WYSIWYG even mattering.

Eh you don't even need wysiwyg in a tourny. A proper point sheet showing the break down of the forces and their point costs, problem solved for tournament issues.
The point sheet will show what your forces have or don't have. Submit that tot eh organizers and then if there is an argument BAM cost sheet shows if you are trying to cheat or not.

Indeed. WYSIWYG in minis gaming is a result of GW's merchandising strategy, not any realistic gameplay need.
James, builds look good. I'm girding my loins for my first battroid build my own self.

Just take your time and do one at a time. Mass assembly with just give you fits and starts. If your glue is relatively fast setting you don't lose much time. IE Assemble body parts, then clip and trim legs. Put them together. Clip trim head, put it together if necessary. Clip trim nose cone and attach to body. Clip and trim arms shoulders assemble. The step by step legs to body. let set. arms to body let set. so on and so forth. They are just a pain but not "difficult" per se. I'll do battlods all day if someone was here to do recon pods

It was more keeping track of which arm went where. But I figured it out, with some help form the sprue references on the FB group and a small felt pen. Then, during my "stay up all night because it's been two weeks since I had to get up at 6 AM and I need to reset my internal clock" Agents of SHIELD marathon, built a full flight of battroids (and the last two guardians I needed, too.) Well. Mostly built. One's fully assempled; the others are in subassemblies to facilitate painting.

vagabondeld, would you be willing to show pictures of your sub-assemblies for painting? I'm curious how other people are approaching their paint jobs. Although, to be honest, I think I'm just going to do a quick job to get these little guys on the gameboard. Nonetheless, my curiosity is piqued.
Thanks.

Legs are assembled and attached to hips; torsos assembled with heads, and the one with a single-grip pose has his arms attached. The two with two-hand-grip poses I left the arms off so I could get at the chests.
I've also managed to lose two heat shields when I lost my grip on on them and the splattered onto the floor. Two core boxes means two spare battroids, so I'm okay... but only just. Fingers crossed for less fumble-fingers in the future!

Cool, thanks. Not to be rude, but do you really think it will matter once they are painted and on the board with some kind of scenery? I poured waaay too much time painting my 15mm German infantry for Flames of War only to realize I could have just splashed some paint on and no one would have noticed.

Some people care more than others. I love to pick up a friends minis and have a look at them. Some folks go to amazing lengths and it's worth a look.
