I was able to pick up a box for less than I pledged in the Kickstarter and would have gotten a few more had I the available funds. Are they trying to divorce themselves from the game by selling out the stock they've already purchased? Are they trying to drum up interest by selling low?

There are variety of theories...not knowing for sure but I was under the impression they were selling a LOT of games in the 35-50% range leading up to Christmas

Could be simple overstock issues. If I owned a store and ordered 10 boxes of RRT and sold three in one quarter, I'd look at discounting them to move the remainder. If they do inventory at the end of the year and have to pay taxes based on the dollar amount in house, I could also see a fantastic reason to clear out some merchandise before I have to pay for it a second time.

I actually just checked the site and you can clearly see that inventory levels affect their pricing strategy. They have more than 20 of Glaug Command pack and have it listed as retail at $36.95 and on sale for $14.99. The Zentraedi Artillery Pods box retails for $36.95 as well, but they have 18 remaining in stock and are listing it for $17.99.

While I expected the Spartan/Phalanxes to go down faster since less came with the started BC, I didn't expect them to be gone that fast. Also not surprised to see the artillery selling, we got plenty of regular pods with the normal pledges but artillery was kind of light unless you did add-ons.

I never pledged, but you wouldn't guess it looking at the number of sprues in my place. At one point, they had every Robotech piece in stock at 50% off. I figured I'd never see these pieces at that price again and went hog-wild.

Well the sale is over, but odds are it will be back Cool Stuff Inc. is not noted for keeping product in stock to make room for new product, but on the other hand other games they have had that are best sellers, have very little to any discounts on them, with the RRT stuff on discount at 50% or more, that means it was not a big seller. wouldn't be surprised if we see another sale in February also to give you an idea of discounts they have the Sedition wars game at 74% off and we know how ugly that game was mechanic wise, while the minis were rather nice.
