And a second storage box made along with a couple of "hardware organizers" (Pods don't fit quite right to make it economical or efficient to use them for Pods) and my entire battlecry (once fully received and assembled) will fit.

Love it. Was thinking of doing something similar because, my GOSH carrying cases are expensive! That or just invite people over to my place to play. I certainly have the space for two players, probably four.

Just have to watch and be careful. They are "loose" in that storage. Went to pull a pod out of the shoe box and the base hooked under one of the dividers and it popped off. Had the plastic case fall over and popped bases off three destroids. Easy fixes but still.

Yeah, there are pitfalls to any approach: money, time, safety (for your minis). It's a trade-off any way you look at it.

Are those the hardware organizers from the dollar store? I'm looking for cheap easy storage. The best I've found so far are bead organizers from Michaels Craft store ($3.99 CAD on sale each right now) but they don't quite fit anything that's taller than a standard veritech or destroid (if you have a gun up, or flight stand there's only one compartment they can go in) and I'd need several of them just for the UEDF alone. The Zents don't fit at all either.

What is the name/brand of that organizer? I am using just a small bin with foam on the bottom, it works but not well.

I've been using 3600 and 3700 series ProLatch organizers from Plano. If you really wanted you could use the 3300 series, but that means you're stacking multiple figures on top of each other because those tend to be 2.25" tall. These things can be had on ebay for $4-$9US each, cheaper in bulk. In order to find the best one you need to search under the specific model number. If you just search for 'plano 3600' you'll take a chance on getting one of the possible configurations in that series. Hell, they even have a container that holds between 3 and 5 of the individual boxes and the thing locks them in place and has a carry handle. One would easily hold a basic box of RRT. The one I have has enough bays to hold my Small World board game that has every single expansion, including the Kickstarter one. If you know how vast that game is you'll be suitably impressed.
*ahem*
I have a crapton of these for my Mechwarrior minis so I've spent time looking at most of the different kinds.
