What missiles are you putting on your valkaryies? I can't see a reason for the 20 point long range upgrade on a 4x6 board...but I haven't given the ordance pod or gravity bombsa fair shake yet.

In terms of modeling, I think the fighters and guardians look cleaner without any wing mounts on them. But, for play I prefer the 'standard' loadout. (Mind you, I haven't really played much other than some test matches.)

For the models I put whatever looks cool and keep it the same throught the squad just to tell the squads apart.
Tactically, the LRMs are actually pretty awesome, at least until they errata them down to ammo 6
The range increase isn't what you should be looking at, it's the Blast quality. 20 points to give them the ability to hit a bunch of people with just one missile. the less ammo isn't a biggie since you can get away with firing less in a volley. If you have the points they;re worth it, IMO
Even if they errata them to ammo 6 they're still good.
I wouldn't waste time or points on mlops though

MLOPS - works also as Anti-Missile which can be really important AND if you hit with 4+ are inescapable. With 8 per volley this is a boon. Too bad they don't have Rapid Fire like the Female Power Armor.
Medium Range - Outranges most typical guns and allows great standoff firepower with a chance of killing a Glaug outright.
Long Range - Blast and Range are Great!.....but they can be shot down easily if fired at a large group.
Bombs - Adds Risk but if you boost your speed you can zoom in, drop them, then zoom out of the line of fire. Excellent since I believe they cannot be shot down though!

Valks already uave antimissile anbd you need to hit with most of your volley (statistically unlikely) in order to domuch damage. Maybe...maybe if it were an eventrade for mrms but not worth paying more for

Yes but the missle trait for the Anti-Missle means they shoot stuff down on a 4+ rather than a 5+. I was thinking of using them as well for that and for the Volley 8. For only 5 points it doesnt seem to bad. I have yet to try them in game though so only time will tell.

True, which is what I use the mini-missiles on the VF-1R and Tomahawk for, but still, a minor upgrade in anti-missile and middling damage isn;t that great. you have to hit with all 8 to do even close to the damage that 2 of the MRMs will do
