Ok some friendly fire went down last nite and an obvious lesson was learned. A Heavy Missile Arty pod misfired and deviated right into allied lines. Two Regults and a Recon pod were destroyed when they failed to shoot down/dodge or RWI. I was fully aware it could happen, but was eager to nuke an enemy VF-1A Guardian and fired the missile too close (closer than 6") to my lines. It was awesome and painful at the same- the squad's Glaug was already destroyed by Guardian missiles and Regults couldn't come back as reinforcements. This is most def a BGMM (By Gloval's Magnificent Mustache) moment. Looking forward to other peoples war stories here- what is your first BGMM moment???

BTW the 3 destroyed pods didn't 'fail' a RWI- they had no CPs left to do so.

Mine came in my first game. 150pt battle. 6 Veritechs vs a recon squad and an attack squad. The pods all massed, and I hadn't taken the blast missiles. For kicks I tried out Ben, Max, and Rick. In one turn of massed fire the Zents killed Ben and massively damaged Rick. The next turn Max stepped up to the plate and met a similar fate, but took out lots of pods with missiles.
Sadly I had a really hard time against the Glaugs. I couldn't hit to save my life, so the Pods kept coming back.
If was a hard day for the UEDF, and I learned a lesson. Incorporate some blast weaponry, because Zents that can mass up with impunity to shield the Glaug and concentrate fire on 1 or 2 mechs until they die will be tough to beat. Blast weaponry would make bunching up too costly.

Yeah each squad having disposable Regults to shield their officers is key. A pure Artillery squad has no such cannon fodder and adding a Regult support group helps spread the pain a lot!
