I'd really like to hear some war stories from other players here. My warm-up skirmish was a lot of long range missile bombardment, as i fielded:
x1 Zen Artillery Core Squad + x1 Recon Support + x1 Glaug Special x1 Armored Tomahawk Core Squad + x2 Defender Support
Man the Zen Heavy Blast Missiles at range 48 really kick some ass (when they dont get shot down) and the Glaug is just a beast once you get it into attack range. The last of the Tomahawks got cornered and used volley X to unload ALL of it's RDS-2 rockets at once (Ammo 8 x Volley 4=32 rockets), to devastating effect. However the Zen squad won 3 out of 4 skirmishes that day.

Glad you had fun! I was supposed to play my first game lastnight but my firend had to go back to work and couldnt make it so now its tomorrow!
The way I read it though is that the "Quad RDS-2 Missle Launcher boxes" is only 1 weapon system not 4 with the stats listed representing all 4 of those missle boxes firing, so it only has 8 Ammo at 2 MD each.
I think the "Quad" and "Dual" prefixes are only used for fluff purposes.

I think something is off Kyron. The RDS-2 has 8 ammo and volley X. That means you have up to 8 shots that may be fired in any multiple desired until all 8 are gone. It's not 8 shots of 4. Also, as far as I can tell, when you fire missiles of any kind the anti-missile roll knocks down all of the missiles or not on a single roll. In other words, your chances of getting things through are better if you DON'T volley fire the missiles, since if you fire 8 missiles, they all get shot down on a 5+ with an anti missile system or a 4+ if it's an anti Missile missile.

Thats true, when you shoot down missles you shoot down all missles targeted on the Mecha with the Anti Missle system.
So if you split your volley up between 4 targets and only one Anti-Missle system works only that one missle is shot down not all 4.

Correct, as long as you split them up (and that's a great reason to do so).

You guys are right- i stand corrected on the Volley X. Each ammo is only x1 rocket, same as with the Female Armor's Grenade Launchers. Thanks for the feedback and lets get some bragging rights posted here! Been using non-RTT vintage model kits for fun additional units- i have an active Female Armor, two Armored VF-1A's, a MAC-II, and even a Cyclops transport. Using Bad Syntax's stats for the cheaper 'Transport' version of the Cyclops. Very cool to shuttle 12 allied Mecha upfield and deploying them into immediate attack range- if the MAC-II dont incinerate it first! I am having a blast with this game and hope to field 500 point 4 Squadron armies as soon as i get all this stuff built- BY GLOVAL'S BEARD (BGB) Valkyrie units take forever to paint and build.

I think "by Gloval's Magnificent Moustache" should be our official exclamation.

Ok so BGMM is an official exclamation of amazement at battlefield events. "BGMM Minmei is still f)*(&ing singing!!" "BGMM that Quedlun Rau is just a demon!" "BGMM Roy is flying drunken master style again!" Good hunting everyone!!
