And I assembled a Phalanx...there are fiddly bits that were VERY unnecessary to be that fiddly imo.

Agreed, I feel that a lot of the pieces were needlessly complex.

I didn't find them that hard to deal with. The cockpit area was a pain but that was it.

I didn't say they were hard to deal with, I said they were unnecessary to be that fiddly.

Appreciate you posting these images and the others. I feel I am now at critical mass to start my own assembly line of cutting, gluing and shaving. Filling with green stuff may or may not happen. These models are so small, I'm not sure I want to worry that much about detail.

YOu will notice I dd not bother with green stuff nor will I. I am relatively new. if people are gong to be that anal then they can play somewhere else as far as I am concerned. i want to have fun not play "who has the biggest dick" via paint jobs.

LOL! If I did use green stuff, it wouldn't be to "one-up" someone, but rather to feed my own perfectionist streak. But, yeah, there are those people out there, and I don't want to game with them, either.

Oh yeah sorry I wasn't inferring you were like that just a generalization of a few.

For a company like ninja division to make these unnecessarily fiddly...it's really strange. Most of this stuff could have been solid cast with no detail loss. I wonder if it was a decision made based on sprue count and "perceived value" vs. overall functionality in model building. Hopefully, they learn from this experience and lay the parts and sprues out better. The only real major complaint I have is that the parts on the sprue aren't numbered. I think that was a mistake. A lot of time is wasted test fitting arms and shit when it could have been easier for them to number the arm parts...so we know which groups of arms go with which pieces for the gun pods, etc.

The rumor mill says Ninja Division had some ideas, but Palladium fiddled with it. Was it the sprues? I don't know for sure. I do know Palladium shopped for molders and I seem to recall it wasn't one Ninja Division used.

I agree there are some 'fiddly parts' and too many parts...but honestly it is not as bad as I thought

I agree there are some 'fiddly parts' and too many parts...but honestly it is not as bad as I thought So far I think that has been the general concensus. The large number of small parts is annoying and will turn some off but the models are no where near what some doomsday backers were saying. Time will tell. Everything has been pretty easy to put together except the Guardian modes and the smaller bits on the scout, Glaug, and Recovery Pod.

Agreed on the guardians, scouts, and glaug. As someone who's been doing this for 25 years..it's not that big of a deal. I've had worse modeling experiences with Forge World models. However, these surely aren't models for novice builders...and I would think that their goal would be to generate a new fan base into the game. Making the models more assembly friendly would go a long way in that regard. Hopefully, the next wave sees an improvement in that area.
