What are the colours under the damage tracking portion of the unit cards for? On some unit cards ( like the Regult Attrition Squadron) there are no colors. However, on the Regult Recon Squadron card, the Glaug has a red bar underneath. What is the red bar for?
On the smaller unit card for the Glaug upgrade, the Glaug has that same red bar but the Glaug-Eldare has three color boxes instead (red, yellow and green).
Am I missing something? What's the purpose of these? Please explain.
Thanks.

I think its a ammo out box. If you look on the back the different weapons that have ammo have the same color on the box. So you can put ticks in the color box to tell if you have shots left. At least that is my understanding.
hope this helps.

For tracking number of missiles fired, I believe.

That's my best guess, ammo tracking.
It's funny, as needlessly vital as they made the card part of the game, they sure spent absolutely no space in the rules describing the anatomy of a card or how it's used, or even what all you;ll find on the cards.

Thanks! I guess that kinda makes sense. The rules do mention tracking ammo on the cards. I guess I was just expecting a "countdown" type of approach like the one they have for damage.
Much appreciated! :-)

They should have explained the cards. Each box has a color that matches one of the weapons on the mecha's card for tracking ammo for that weapon.

That the one thing I was unhappy with Quality wise, was the cards. The stuff I saw at GenCon was SO much better, wish they would have left them alone.

I agree. I am not a fan of the 3 different card system for sure. Warmachine puts everything they need on one card (except for casters). They are not over crowded with space. I don't think we needed the cards for army lists. Just a simple stat card for what we are using would have been good. But I guess it does keep us honest with how we build the list and what unit is with what formation and what not. But it is what it is.

Cannot recommend Mike's custom "sheets" enough. SO much easier to track everything.

Mike I have a question about your cards. I only have the core box right now so I only know of those few core and support cards that came in there. Are all the extras you have home made cards or from somewhere else?

All the cards listed as Homebrew are based off of official squads and points. The Fan Made ones are additional designs like an all Defender Squadron and the VF-1J as a support add that I made myself and are not official. Hope that helps!

Mike,
Well done, sir! As soon as I opened my game box on Monday, I noticed the rules had almost a complete lack of detail regarding missiles and ammo. Not only that, having to make tiny "ticks" on an already tiny red box is utterly useless... especially if you want to play using different combinations of ordnance (like MLOPS on the inner-wing pylons and gravity bombs on the outer ones)
To everyone else, these cards are vastly superior to the OEM ones. I've even used them to create a few custom squads using photoshop. I highly recommend printing them on card stock and laminating them as I did.
Cheers, Stephen

I have Powerpoint files for them all if that makes it any easier
